As a Field Service Engineer / Customer Engineer at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct customer liaison for installation, maintenance, and equipment upgrades. You use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems, and coordinating directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service. Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment. - Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using company diagnostic tools. - Follow and generate documented procedures. - Communicate with customers and internal business units; lead projects as necessary. - Train and mentor junior Field Service Engineers. - Fulfill additional assigned duties. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree. - 7-10 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry. - Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics. - Strong knowledge of hand tools including digital multimeters. - Advanced knowledge of wafer processing parameters. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. - Valid driver's license; ability to obtain a passport if travel is required. - Able to meet all on-site requirements, including safety, environmental guidelines, and COVID-19 protocols. - Requires to speak Korean fluently. - Etch equipment experience preferred. - Strong customer management skills. Physical Requirements: Extensive walking and standing, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting up to 35 lbs., color distinction, working with electricity, noise tolerance, and use of hand and power tools. Clean room work with PPE including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields. Position Details: Location Xi'an, CHN.
