Position: Payroll Specialist (Korean Language) - Business Process Solutions, Deloitte Global Delivery Center, Dalian
Deloitte China operates Global Delivery Centers in Chongqing, Dalian, and Guangzhou, providing multilingual services in compliance and consulting. The Tax & Business Consulting Services team emphasizes technical excellence, tax talent development, and comprehensive services including enterprise tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and employer global services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute end-to-end Korean payroll processing ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements and client policies
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, tax filings, social insurance contributions (NPS, Health Insurance, Employment Insurance, Workers' Compensation), and year-end tax settlements (yeonmaljeong) per Korean regulations
- Monitor and interpret Korean labor law and tax regulation changes; assess payroll process impacts and recommend adjustments
- Perform monthly payroll audits, reconciliations, data validations; generate management reports, dashboards, and statistical analyses
- Coordinate with local Korean vendors for annual tax reconciliation and employee inquiries
- Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues through root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams across geographies
- Support new system implementation projects (advantage)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Korean language, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 3 years hands-on Korean payroll operations experience, preferably in multinational corporations or shared services
- In-depth understanding of Korean payroll principles and full-cycle administration
- Strong knowledge of Korean labor law, statutory benefits, tax regulations, and compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook); payroll systems experience (Workday, SAP, ADP) highly desirable
- Fluent Korean and English (written and spoken) as working languages; Korean TOPIK Level 6 preferred; English CET-6 or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work independently in high-volume, deadline-driven environments with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multicultural team collaboration
- Basic accounting knowledge preferred
Daily communication is conducted in English with offshore team members.
