Position: Payroll Specialist (Korean Language) - Business Process Solutions-GDC - Dalian
Deloitte seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist for its Global Delivery Center to manage end-to-end payroll processing and operational support for Korea. The ideal candidate combines deep Korean payroll expertise with statutory compliance knowledge, strong analytical abilities, and cross-cultural communication skills for seamless collaboration with offshore teams. Work is conducted in English daily with international colleagues, requiring fluency in both Korean and English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute complete payroll processing for Korea, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements and client policies
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, tax filings, and social insurance contributions (National Pension Service, Health Insurance, Employment Insurance, Workers' Compensation)
- Complete year-end tax settlements (yeonmaljeong) per Korean regulations
- Monitor and interpret changes in Korean labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements; assess impacts on payroll processes and recommend adjustments
- Perform monthly payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validations to ensure data integrity and quality standards
- Generate management reports, dashboards, and statistical analyses for business and compliance needs
- Coordinate with local Korean vendors supporting annual tax reconciliation
- Provide timely responses to employee inquiries; ensure timely, accurate task completion
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues through root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
- Collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, and IT teams across geographies
- Support new system implementation projects (advantageous experience)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Korean language, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years hands-on Korean payroll operations experience (multinational corporation or shared services experience preferred)
- In-depth understanding of Korean payroll principles and full-cycle payroll administration
- Strong knowledge of Korean labor law, statutory benefits, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Outlook); payroll system experience preferred (Workday, SAP, ADP)
- Fluent Korean and English: Korean TOPIK Level 6 preferred; English CET-6 or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work independently in high-volume, deadline-driven environments with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for global, multicultural team collaboration
- Basic accounting knowledge preferred
