Solutions Architect, Automotive/Enterprise (Korean Speaking) - Mapbox, Tokyo, Japan, Mid-Senior Level, Full-time. Location requirement: must reside in Japan or South Korea. Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform enabling organizations with tools to power navigation of people, packages, and vehicles. Solutions Architects serve as trusted technical and business advisors partnering with customers to design, prototype, and deliver solutions on the Mapbox platform. Core Responsibilities: partner with Sales to position Mapbox technical value and shape opportunities; lead technical discovery to understand customer goals, requirements, and success criteria; design and present scalable architectures using Mapbox SDKs, APIs, and platform services; respond to technical customer requests (RFI/RFQ); provide technical guidance during pre-sales cycles via workshops, demos, and PoC/PoV; drive customer success by accelerating time-to-value; advocate for customer needs and provide product feedback; stay current on mapping, mobility, and AI technologies. Required Qualifications: 5+ years in solutions architecture, customer-facing engineering, or consulting; fluent in Korean and English (written and verbal); reside in Japan or South Korea; knowledge of web and mobile technologies (JavaScript, Android, iOS); experience building applications integrating back-end APIs and front-end SDKs; strong business acumen; excellent communication with technical and executive audiences; willingness to travel up to 25%. Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering; GIS/location intelligence/geospatial experience; major cloud platform experience; AI technology experience; RFI/RFQ technical response experience; automotive industry and ecosystem knowledge (navigation, autonomous driving, ADAS, ISA, software-defined vehicles); OEM and Tier-1 supplier collaboration experience.
