Expansion Manager, Japan & South Korea (all genders) Company: Distribusion Technologies (Berlin-based ground transportation marketplace) Workplace: Japan / South Korea & Remote Reports to: Head of International Expansion Key Responsibilities - Source and contract ground transportation carriers; negotiate commercial agreements - Develop the South Korea market entry strategy focusing on Korail and private bus operators - Contract B2C and B2B retailers (OTAs, travel agencies, TMCs) and manage the full commercial lifecycle - Execute post-signature onboarding, integration, and revenue expansion for retail partners - Drive sales and partnership growth aligned with Northeast Asia strategic objectives - Collaborate cross-functionally (BD, Integrations, Product, Finance) on tailored solutions - Identify technical workarounds, remove blockers, and maintain execution velocity - Contribute to cross-market business development intelligence Requirements - 5+ years travel-tech experience with direct experience in the Japanese and/or South Korean market - Proven track record closing agreements with rail and transport operators; JR Group relationships advantageous - Deep understanding of the North Asia travel landscape, carrier and retailer players, and regulatory environment - Independent negotiator with strong relationship-building and stakeholder influence skills - Analytical problem-solving and data-driven decision capability - International experience in high-performance teams - High agency and a solutions-oriented mindset - Japanese fluency is essential; Korean language fluency is a strong plus - English proficiency (spoken and written) - Willingness to travel across APAC to meet partners and attend industry events What Is Offered - Fast-paced travel-tech environment with day-one ownership and measurable impact - Agile, cutting-edge technology stack - Exposure to major travel partners including Google Maps, Booking.com, MoMo, and Zalo Pay - International, talented, mission-driven team - Flexible and remote working, relocation support, and career growth opportunities Company Background Distribusion connects ground transportation operators in over 70 countries with major online retailers.
