Senior Manager of Korean Sales & Marketing - The Grand Ho Tram (luxury integrated casino resort). Location: Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon Ward). Mid-level management role in the International Marketing division, requiring 4-5 years of sales experience in a premier hotel/resort with Korean market expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Support:
- Identify and develop new Korean market opportunities (corporate groups, travel agencies, golf groups, VIP customers, strategic partners)
- Maintain and grow relationships with Korean agents, business partners and key customers
- Achieve departmental revenue and visitation targets through proactive sales activities
- Manage Korean travel agency accounts including room nights, revenue, promotions and business opportunities
- Develop new Korean travel agencies and travel partners
- Create hotel, golf, leisure and integrated resort products/packages for the Korean market
- Coordinate FAM tours and site inspections for Korean travel agencies and corporate clients
- Manage Korean direct booking inquiries with Reservations and operational departments
- Develop Korean corporate accounts for accommodation, meetings, events, incentive groups and golf business
- Secure new Korean corporate contracts in Vietnam and Korea
- Develop Korean MICE business (meetings, incentives, conferences, events, group travel)
- Plan Korean market roadshows, sales missions, agency visits and sales activation activities
Event & Entertainment Support:
- Support planning, coordination, promotion and execution of concerts, sporting events, golf tournaments, VIP functions and special events
- Provide support for Korean concerts, performances and Korean-market events
- Coordinate artist, guest and VIP arrangements (accommodation, transportation, dining, logistics)
- Prepare event reports, guest lists, promotional materials and post-event evaluations
Marketing & Communication Support:
- Prepare marketing presentations, sales reports, business proposals and management reports
- Support Korean-language content development, translation and marketing communications
- Coordinate customer database management, SMS campaigns and direct marketing
- Develop online and offline marketing initiatives to attract Korean customers
Relationship Management:
- Maintain relationships with Korean VIP customers
- Provide prompt assistance to customer inquiries
- Support customer retention initiatives and follow-up activities
Cross-Department Coordination:
- Liaise with Hotel Operations, Casino Marketing, VIP Services, Golf Operations, F&B and Finance
- Coordinate communications and follow up on outstanding issues
Administrative & Reporting:
- Prepare departmental budgets, forecasts, monthly reports and performance analyses
- Maintain customer records, visitation reports and sales activity reports
- Work with the VP of Korean Sales & Marketing on short and long-range goals and objectives
- Communicate the departmental vision and inspire marketing team commitment
- Monitor guest service delivery against company standards
- Participate in the development of marketing strategies to increase volume, market share and hotel revenue
- Monitor booking trends and modify marketing strategies
- Monitor departmental expenditures and control costs
- Research, develop, evaluate and implement new products, services, technology and processes
- Report results against planned objectives; coordinate sales staff; maximize sales
- Actively sell resort goods and services through trade shows and industry functions
- Develop marketing suggestions for low seasonal periods
- Perform account analysis and know competitor products and pricing
- Meet or exceed room revenue and F&B quotas
- Solicit and contract group bookings
- Travel as required; maintain close contacts with travel agents, meeting planners and corporate clients
- Maintain excellent working relationships with department supervisors
- Promote teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Monitor and analyze department performance standards; provide metrics and feedback
- Represent the organization through community involvement
- Develop and manage an individual sales plan and budget for the territory
- Lead new business development (solicitation, presentations, needs assessments, proposals, contracts)
- Develop group, event and meeting packages; create sample itineraries and pricing
- Convert prospects to clients; maintain client relationships for repeat business and referrals
- Identify market trends; develop strategic and tactical recommendations
- Seek new business through online booking opportunities and revenue management
- Maintain relationships with key wholesalers
- Consult with client group representatives to plan event details
- Compile month-end sales reports
- Recruit, train and evaluate Leisure and Travel sales team members
- Ensure staff deliver first-class service with professionalism and accountability
- Work flexible hours beyond standard working hours as needed for business needs, events and client requirements. Due to the nature of the hospitality business and 24-hour hotel operations, this role is not strictly limited to standard working hours.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (higher education preferred)
- 4-5 years of sales experience in a premier luxury hotel/resort with a Korean market focus
- 2+ years of management experience
- Computer proficiency and business software knowledge
- Well-groomed professional appearance
- Fluent in Korean/English communication, verbal and nonverbal
- Proven successful sales record with the ability to structure quotas and create measurable results
- Strong math skills and familiarity with statistical reports
- Strategic plan implementation ability
- Exemplary contract negotiation skills
- Knowledge of market segmentation, yield and inventory management
- Visual and oral presentation capabilities
- Ability to foster productive client relationships
- Excellent guest service skills; ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
- Exercise confidentiality with hotel and guest data; strict adherence to confidentiality agreements and company policies
- Strong understanding of luxury and hospitality concepts
- Preferably experience in a pre-opening integrated resort with 500+ gaming tables or 1,000+ slot machines
- Thorough knowledge of local casino gaming regulatory requirements
- Strong business experience reviewing and developing marketing plans and collateral
- Strong track record understanding marketing dynamics and proactive business objective achievement
- Experience analyzing promotions and making marketing recommendations
- Ability to create effective cross-company relationships and execute business plans requiring multi-division participation
- Gaming, hotel, golf and entertainment industry knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Staff supervision and direction ability
- Business writing and standard report preparation
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-starter, collaborative, highly organized, innovative problem-solver, creative marketer with a sense of urgency
